This announcement represents so much more than just the beginning of another project for me. This comes from a deeply personal and heartfelt place.
I’m launching and will be curating a new LinkedIn group exclusively for managers and executives who are on a quest to become elite, transformational leaders and coaches. Beginning this week, each Wednesday I will pose a a new leadership challenge for the group to discuss and collaborate on in order to discover and learn the best-practices and strategies used by the world’s top coaches. Then, once a month, two volunteer members of this exclusive group will receive free coaching from me during a live video broadcast on a topic of their choice.
Why This Means So Much to Me Personally
I have been abundantly blessed throughout my career. And as I get closer-and-closer to retirement, my thoughts turn more-and-more towards wanting to give back to a community that has supported me over the years. Which is why I’m looking forward to this project with more enthusiasm than anything else I’ve launched in a long time. Now, I’ll be able to provide one-to-one coaching for individuals who may not have been able to have personal access to me or afford my fees before and experience the kind of positive impact my coaching has had worldwide, on thousands of businesses and people’s lives. And anyone who is interested will be able to sit on the sidelines and watch these live coaching sessions as well! I’m excited about this because it just feels like the right thing for me to do and aligns with the philanthropic work I want to spend the rest of my life doing.
Okay, I admit, there’s nothing particularly groundbreaking or inherently exciting about launching a new LinkedIn group. I believe managers and executives deserve a place where they can go and be relieved of the pressures and stress imposed on them by quotas, building a team of champions, corporate drama, challenges, the grind to continually generate better results and of course, their boss’s agenda.
I’m certain that a group of managers and executives from diverse organizations have the ability to share immensely valuable insights and experiences with peers from different industries. And I believe that if they can come together in a safe, authentic place online with no bombardment of constant sales pitches and relentless self-promoters and marketers, that incredible new opportunities and learning can occur. I envision this group as a place of empowerment and personal development for all leaders. As such, it will not be a suitable environment for independent coaches and consultants. It’s strictly for managers and executives who are looking to develop their skills as a high performance coach. That’s it. This is not a networking group. Participants will be thoroughly screened. It will not be a place for pitching services or sharing blog posts. There’s the rest of the web for that. Again, it is ONLY intended to be for the collaboration, growth, and support of managers and executives who are striving to improve and create dynamic coaching cultures in their organizations.
Here’s the part I’m extremely excited about! On February 25th at 1:00pm EST, I will begin broadcasting live on Blab.im. This inspires me because, to my knowledge, this type of live coaching on a unique platform has never been done before, especially with this audience! No edits, no script, no seeded questions or pre-planned agenda. Just live, streaming video of ‘on demand’ authentic coaching. And then beginning in March, I will attempt to broadcast live at 1:00pm EST on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Anyone is welcome to tune in to the live broadcasts, but only members of the Coachquest LinkedIn group will be eligible to receive live coaching from me. Not only am I thrilled to provide this coaching for two LinkedIn group members each month, I can’t wait to share what truly effective coaching looks, sounds, and feels like. And I’m choosing to do this on live video instead of just audio, a podcast or YouTube video in order to showcase how great coaching works in an unscripted and very real manner because this is exactly what managers experience every day!
I won’t be using a studio, bright lights, or goofy makeup. It will just be me in my office, coaching someone through a challenge, goal, or an opportunity, the same as I’ve done tens of thousands of times over the years. My only intention here is to model for you what you need to do and who you need to become in order to take your coaching to the next level of excellence. Now, you will have the ability to make the positive impact you want in your life and in the lives of those people you interact with every day. I look forward to you joining me on this Coachquest!
